Vitality, existence or tenacity?

Abstract expressionism is at the core of all Simone’s work as she delves into the her own sense of self and the complexities of life through colour, form and expression. She believes that layers have the power to create depth and dimensionality. And it’s through layering that she’s able to process the intricacies and narratives of human experience. This abstract artwork delves into the introspective journey of rediscovering energy after inevitable moments of exhaustion (“it’s been a long year as one says”). The mixed-media painting has a softer, more subdued palette of beige and blues. Through the interplay of muted tones and gentle strokes, the artwork delves into contemplation; a visual dialogue that reflects on the delicate balance between the pursuit of vitality, the act of simply existing, and the steadfast tenacity needed to persevere.
