This work is related to the ongoing series of dust works entitled Sorry. These drawings evoke the uncertain and uncomfortable relationship we have with our species' role in the destruction of the natural environment. We witness the ongoing destruction of climate and natural environments, but can we live differently and commit to doing less harm, including, in the end, to ourselves? The medium here has the appearance of felt against the paper background. In fact the woollen 'dust' is applied in dust form to individually painted areas of glue. The medium or process is a slow and intricate labour of love. The felt-like surface is reminiscent of children's craft or toys. It suggests the transience of our dust-to-dust presence, and perhaps also an idea somehow cushioned or softened to make it less painful. The image is fragmented, as if viewed througha screen or filter, evoking our reluctance to see clearly when the view is painful and we may be somehow responsible for the destruction.
