Deep within: Be

Abstract expressionism is at the core of all Simone’s work as she delves into the her own sense of self and the complexities of life through colour, form and expression. She believes that layers have the power to create depth and dimensionality. And it’s through layering that she’s able to process the intricacies and narratives of human experience. The abstract artwork was made during Simone’s solo art residency in France 2023 while working through thoughts connected to her sense of self. This abstract expressionist painting has many layers as well as mixed mediums adding to the profound journey of self-discovery. An exploration of finding the fiery spirit within (as in the true beauty of one’s core) and allowing it to not just exist but to shine.
