Agony of a Saint

This work is an experiment with bark cloth, sawdust, and low relief creation to capturing the emotion, depression, and memories of dark moments during the Covid 19 Total lockdown in Uganda. It is an extension of the self and the ongoing quest for better times. The tension between figuration and abstraction makes subtle reference to the internal and external push and pulls we experienced when the pandemic was at its peak in Uganda and worldwide as a collective challenge.
