Subjected to economic hardships; tsa ngwana wa moAfrika (of the African child), the scars on the plate are a reflection of scars either physical or emotional they encounter as they struggle for survival. Nevertheless, the boys remain in colourful and good spirits despite the odds! Chibua, deploys violet strokes with bright colours to symbolise the duality of a brewing storm and peace.
