Barbara Böhlke is using natural ochers pigments from the Northern Kunene region of Namibia.This together with ashes and charcoal she applies to her canvas with sponges, her hands, and a variety of other makeshift tools. The resulting multilayered paintings radiate in the rich colours of the pigments.
