Bag Factory Artist's Studios presents Young and Unframed 3 Solo Exhibitions by Smiso Cele, Nonceba Thami Dwanya and Tsepo Sizwe Phokojoe

Young/Unframed is aimed at creating opportunities for identifying and including young creatives who are less represented in South Africa’s creative industry, and we strongly encouraged applications from women of color, persons who identify as LGBTQI+, and persons living with physical and/or mental disabilities.

Throughout 2023, the Bag Factory has commissioned three artists to produce new work for their first solo presentation in Johannesburg. Each artist has received financial and curatorial support, and the space to experiment using the Bag Factory’s gallery to create new and/or site-specific work. Each artist has collaborated with an emerging curator who has received hands-on practical experience and mentorship from the Bag Factory’s team to realize the exhibition.

The shows run from 3 February - 16 February 2024.
