EBONY/CURATED was established in 2007 in Franschhoek in the Cape Winelands and in 2011 a second gallery was opened in Cape Town, South Africa. The Cape Town gallery exhibits contemporary and modern art and represents a core group of emerging and established artists. These artists are either from the continent or have historic links to the wider African Diaspora. The gallery has been acclaimed for nurturing the careers of young artists and for discovering new talent. In 2017 EBONY/CURATED expanded further to include a third space at Bordeaux House, Franschhoek which focuses on both Contemporary Works and Masters from South Africa and the rest of the continent. This large space allows for the exhibition of large- scale sculptures and installations.

EBONY/CURATED has held a number of significant solo, group and public non-selling exhibitions and regularly participates in local and international art fairs. Gallery artists are included in notable private and public collections.
