Jason Langa (b.1997) is an emerging contemporary figurative painter and printmaker based in Johannesburg, South Africa. His primary medium is oil paint and in other works he employs the medium of printmaking in its various techniques. His immediate community are the main source of inspiration for his subjects and coupled with his use of colour to represent skin tones, he aims to create an emotional connection between his work and the viewer.

Jason has exhibited prints and participated in various Artist Proof Studio related projects such as the Student Lockdown Collection (2020), Green Economic Recovery project (2020) as well as the Waste Reclaimers, at Documenta 15, Kassel, Germany, as part of the APS, UJ & UP student print collaboration exchange (2022). He has also exhibited his paintings at Denzil’s & Jo Gallery, Melville (2022) and has collaborated with Doktor and Misses and contributed an artwork for a set design for Netflix show (2022).
