The artwork is inspired by a moment of discovery, while in studio working on one of
my new expressions, a friend looking at catalogues finds an image of a piece by
Bertina Lopes titled (Enterrei a minha), and jokingly asks ls this yours? I take a look
and the first thing that comes to mind is how much of what we make and think is new has actualy found itself here before... and it reminds me of the phrase “Nothing new under the sun” Many things/ideas that appear
new are not really new at all. This piece is a tribute to Bertina Lopes in honor of her
knowledge which I feel is now passed on to me in a very intuitive way.
"Long live the knowledge passed down by intuitions".
